Itinerary
Day 1: Monday, April 8 (MBS, D)We will depart Grand Rapids early this morning, stopping for our signature breakfast as we make our way to Nashville. Lunch will be on your own along the way. We will arrive in Nashville with time to check into our hotel downtown and meet our local tour guide before dinner at Blake Shelton’s Ole Red.Day 2: Tuesday, April 9 (B)We will begin the day with a professional, guided city tour of Nashville, including the downtown area, State Capitol, The Ryman auditorium, Music Row’s recording studios, The Governor’s Mansion, Vanderbilt University and many other points of interest. You will have the afternoon free in downtown Nashville, with lunch and dinner on your own. In the evening, we will go as a group to experience The Grand Ole Opry!Day 3: Wednesday, April 10 (B, D)After a free day to enjoy Nashville, our group will enjoy dinner and a country music variety show at Nashville Nightlife Theatre. This show is a celebration of country music past and present, so you will hear songs from artists like Hank Williams Jr and Patsy Cline, to Sara Evans and Toby Keith!Day 4: Thursday, April 11 (B, D)After checking out of our hotel, we will depart late in the morning for Opry Mills, Tennessee’s premiere shopping destination. There are over 200 shops, unique specialty stores and a Bass Pro Shop. You will have time to shop and enjoy lunch on your own, before we depart Nashville in the afternoonand head to Clarksville, TN. We will meet our local tour guide when we arrive at the hotel. In the evening, we will depart for Tanglewood House, where we will enjoy a delicious dinner, bluegrass music and a biscuit bake-off!Day 5: Friday, April 12 (B, L & D)After breakfast, we will depart for a tour of Historic Collinsville, a recreated village containing era specific homes and buildings that offer a glimpse into mid 19th century life. We will make a stop at Sweet Charlotte, an adorable candy, popcorn and soda shop that you are sure to enjoy. Our next stop will be in Bon Aqua, to see Johnny Cash’s Storytellers Hideaway Farm and Museum. Here we will have lunch, see the farm home Johnny loved, the “One Piece at a Time” Car, many other pieces of country music memorabilia, and be entertained by Johnny Cash’s nephew, the talented Mark Alan Cash. After some time back at the hotel to freshen up, we will enjoy dinner at Edwards Steakhouse.
Day 6: April 13 (B, D)We will tour Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center. Located on a bluff 200 feet above the confluence of the Red and Cumberland Rivers, this site played a major role in the Civil War after being captured by union forces in 1862. Next, we will visit The Customs House Museum and Cultural Center,featuring both fine art and history. Lunch will be on your own in gorgeous downtown Clarksville, where you will have time to visit some of the shops in the area. This afternoon, we will have a tour and tasting at Beachaven Winery, then enjoy a drink (voucher included) at your choice of either Star SpangledBrewing or Leatherwood Distillery. After some time to freshen up at the hotel, we will head to Murph’s Country Music Barn for dinner and a show.Day 7: April 14 (B)This morning after breakfast and checking out of our hotel, we will head north for home. Lunch and dinner will be on your own along the way. We will arrive in Grand Rapids at approximately 8:00 pm.
